Rules of Play Survey Results
ABOUT THE SURVEY
The City of Las Cruces asked the Las Cruces Pickleball Community to put forward SUGGESTIONS FOR "RULES OF PLAY" WHEN THE PUBLIC PICKLEBALL COURTS ARE FULL (both Apodaca and East Mesa). On May 31st the link to the Survey was published to approximately 20,000 Las Cruces residents. All responses were anonymous.
The Survey asked respondents to choose 1 of 3 options or write in their OTHER suggestion:
- All courts should be open play to all players no matter their skill level
- 1 Challenge Court, 1 Beginner Court, all other courts are open play
- 2 Challenge Courts, 2 Advanced Courts, 2 Intermediate Courts, 2 Beginner Courts

OUTREACH TO THE PICKLEBALL COMMUNITY
The link to the Survey was published on May 31 to the following:
- 883 emails (both OMPC members and non-members)
- The Organ Mountains Pickleball Club Facebook page (669 members)
- The Las Cruces Pickleball Facebook page (955 members)
- The New Las Cruces Community Facebook page (18.4k members)
SURVEY RESULTS
250 responses were received from May 31 - June 14 (see chart)
- 42.8% (107 responses) - All Courts should be open play to all players no matter their skill level
- 34.0% (85 responses) - 1 Challenge Court, 1 Beginner Court, all other courts are open play
- 16.0% (40 responses) - 2 Challenge Courts, 2 Advanced Courts, 2 Intermediate Courts, 2 Beginner Courts
- 7.2% (18 responses) – Other
